Eco Schools

For the last seven years St John CES has been an eco-conscious school, and has achieved Gold status as an Ontario environmental school. Staff and students work hard together leading and making choices that benefit many areas of the local and global environments. Energy conservation, waste management and the aspects of the physical natural world are threads that weave through every aspect of the school. A passionate and engaging group of children from grades 3-6 form The Green Team. These students gather to determine school wide green goals, which they introduce to the school, and guide staff and classes in putting those initiatives into action.
