French Immersion Information Evening

St. John Elementary School will be hosting a French Immersion information evening on March 5th at 6:00 p.m. in the gymnasium. This information session is for parents of students who are currently attending, or will attend school in September 2019 and who are interested in learning more about French Immersion.

Kindergarten Registration Week – January 14-18, 2019

St. John Catholic Elementary School is now accepting new student registrations for September 2019!

We invite parents to call the school (613-267-2865) to make an appointment to visit during Kindergarten Registration Week, which begins Monday, January 14, or drop in during our Kindergarten Registration Open House, which takes place Wednesday, January 16th from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Here are some pictures from our Scientists in School workshop today. This workshop was donated by Shauna Doyle. She is coming back to lead a different workshop for grade 2s on November 13. We are very lucky to have her. These workshops cost around $200 each!

Fire Safety Week Prevention Poster Contest

Ella Jarbeau is the winner of the Fire Safety Prevention Poster Contest!! She was accompanied by her sister Avery for a McDonald’s lunch on Tuesday, October 30th, where the two sisters took a ride in the FIRE TRUCK to McDonald’s as part of the prize. Congratulations Ella!!!

8:30 am – Buses Arrive & Yard Supervision Begins
8:40 am – Classes Begin
10:10 am to 10:25 am – Morning Recess
11:25 am to 12:00 pm – Lunch Recess
12:00 pm to 12:20 pm – Transition Indoors & Students Eat Lunch
12:20 pm – Afternoon Classes Begin
2:50 pm to 3:00 pm – Afternoon Recess
3:00 pm – Dismissal

Updates and Changes at St. John Elementary

Due to the multiple disruptions we’ll need to make a few changes and updates…..

Thursday Pizza Day will be moved to Monday Jan. 28

Kids who get milk will get double milk for the next 4 days beginning Friday Jan. 25

The ‘Be Holy’ Assembly for tomorrow has been re-scheduled to Fri. Feb. 22.  We will add an additional assembly date in March.

We will go ahead with the GSTF fundraiser tomorrow.  Dress backwards and make a $2 donation.

Backward Clothing Day for the Good Samaritan Trust Fund Fundraiser

We will do a backwards clothing day Friday as a GSTF fundraiser.  Students can donate a Toonie or pay online and wear some (all?) of their clothes backwards.
